Description: Bisque socket head, brown glass sleep eyes, painted nostrils, closed mouth with painted features, early German composition eight-ball jointed body with straight wrists. Original wig and plaster pate. Slight typical scuffs to finish. Kestner, circa 1885
Clothing: wonderful period antique costume of midnight blue velvet with pleated lace collar and matching hat and original leather shoes.
Marks: XI incised on back of head.
Condition: No chips, cracks or repairs to bisque. Original body finish. An exceptional example of the rare XI model in wonderful costume with an early German style body with original finish, minor scuffs on hands.
