This beautiful fashion doll has a bisque swivel head over bisque shoulderplate, large blue glass inset eyes, dark eyeliner, painted lashes, arched feathered brows, accented nostrils and eye corners, closed mouth with outlined lips, and pierced ears. She has the lovely, delicate pale bisque of the Jumeau firm. She wears her brunette mohair wig over a cork pate. She has a sturdy kid poupee body with gusset-jointing at elbows, hips and knees. Condition: Her bisque is perfect without any repair or damage. She wears her original couturier fitted costume of burgundy velvet and silk with aqua bows, matched undergarments, and leather boots with aqua bows which are incised J.J. Three internationally recognized experts on French Fashion dolls agreed with the attribution of her costume to the house of Ernestine Jumeau. The costume was not removed for further examination as it would damage the fitted and fragile fabric.
Comments: French, circa 1877, attributed to Emile Jumeau, this is the early facial model that transitioned into the premiere bebe model.
